The YORKSHIRE TOFTY the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams 'Eleanor Roosevelt'

Registering a Tofty
All Toftys are registered on the offi cial database and are given a registration number. You'll receive a pedigree showing its lineage.

If a Tofty doesn't have a pedigree in the database, it's not a genuine Tofty!

All litters must meet the Eligibility Criteria below to be registered as a Tofty.
Eligibility for Registration
-
The dam must be fully health tested and must be genetically clear for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM)
-
The sire must be chosen to compliment the dam's results so that no puppies are affected by Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) or MDR1, and are genetically clear for DM
-
The dam and sire must be approved before breeding by Angela Harvey, breed founder, who can provide advice on selection of the sire
-
Tofty litters must be bred as naturally as possible, and the Artificial Insemination (AI) of chilled semen is not allowed. AI of frozen semen is allowed if the dog resides in another country or is deceased
-
Puppies should not begin weaning until the age of 4 weeks, including puppy formula (an exemption is available in the rare instance of the dam being unable to feed her puppies) I believe this drastically reduces the chances of puppies developing allergies and intolerances.
-
If a Tofty female has required a caesarean section or develops mastitis, she should not be bred again and any future litters will not be eligible for registration. If the owner can provide a valid reason for a c-section the registration might be allowed, but of this is a second c-section in the same female, it most definitely won't be.
